This 4.5 day Symposium, held at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, examines lessons learned from traumatic events and reveals new, preemptive school safety measures growing in multiple realms. The Symposium is designed to provide a number of takeaways that districts, departments and agencies can implement immediately. This is not open to the public, and attendees will be asked to show an agency or organization I.D. upon check-in.

Monday through Tuesday are expected to be all general sessions, with a reunification class and exercise on Wednesday. Thursday is for people who wish to become Certified Trainers for the Standard Reunification Method and Standard Response Protocol. There is an additional fee for this day.


Law enforcement, school personnel, victim advocates, mental health professionals, emergency and risk management staff, school safety teams and all first responders.


Presenters include school administrators, law enforcement, criminal justice and school security administrators who have been involved in the response and recovery to school violence and other events.

The Briefings is hosted by The "I Love U Guys" Foundation, with assistance from Jefferson County R-1 School District and the Colorado State Attorney General's Office. The cost is $350 for general sessions and an additional $100 for Thursday's Certified Trainer class, with proceeds benefiting The I Love U Guys Foundation. Early registrants will receive a discount. The Registration link will be live when Symposium dates are confirmed.
